There's been a rash of virii turned loose in competition with the other. They have even included obscenities in the code directed toward the other writers!
Heuristics in McAfee saved my southern exposure as I was one of the first to have Netsky sent to me! The next day, Netsky hit the news and the definition update downloaded automatically.
I'm not pushing McAfee, but it is time to make sure you are protected (and your definition files are up to date) by a good virus scanning program!!! AVG is a good (free as far as I know) alternative to the "big guys (Norton, et. al.).
I can only see this battle building in nastiness as the competition grows until somebody finally looses interest.
So far this year, the virus definition writers have had more emergency sessions than the last two years put together. |

In reply to Message (9050) EMAIL VIRUS WARNING
By Jay - Sun 07/03/04 05:53:40 GMT HI just a warning to everyone, I have just received an email from the following address....
10781791904043b5761d0d1@ yahoo.li
If you get this DON NOT OPEN IT.
It contains the W32.Netsky.B@mm Virus.
Luckily I scanned it before but others may not be so lucky so be warned. It was sent to a yahoo account, I don't know what others it affects.
Jay
