I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I managed to make slime out of a laundry soap bar! This is what I did:
- buy a 1kg soap bar at a local store (exactly like the pink/blue one in this store: http://lojadossabonetes.com/en/catalogue/laundry-soap/ ) - cut about 5 to 6cm (I used 3x 2cm pieces for easier slicing) - slice it thin with a knife (looks like curled chocolate bits) - put it in a 5 liters container - add hot water - wait for it to cool off or about half a day.
Pros: - a nice slightly brownish slime - feels really nice, soaps and washes easily (hey, it's soap!) - easily obtained (at least for me!) - only 2 euros - soap bar is about 42cm long which means about 35 liters of washable slime
Cons: - slime was a little lumpy (was my 2nd tryout, possibly solved by better slicing/dissolving) - might burn a little in the eyes as any normal soap, so just be careful.
The brand seems to be "offenbach soap", the package says "47%-50% fat acid, over 30% of soap", it's crafted (artesanal) and made in molds.
