For the second year in a row it looks like I will not get to go to the California Extreme classic arcade game convention in Santa Clara California in July, as my employer doesn't want to grant very many days off during July. The first alternative to come to mind was a third trip to Las Vegas in August. After thinking and doing a little online research, I decided that I will go to Reno this August instead. I have never been to Reno before (except as a kid when of course I couldn't gamble), so this will be an exciting new experience for me. New scenery and new casinos. I especially want to play at the Western Village Casino, whose website says that they have $1 craps and roulette and $2 blackjack. Getting back on topic, I read about 2 possible wetlook opportunities in Reno: the Sparks Marina next to the aforementioned casino and at Wingfield Park (the Truckee River runs through it) located downtown supposedly within walking distance of the Virginia Street casino corridor. Has anyone ever been to these places? Are they worth checking out?
