The advisory specifically said Christian, not "actively religious", not my bias. Even this comment seems to imply that one would not take offence to lewd or profane comments directed toward them unless they are religious. How about nobody deserves lewd or profane comments, period? That would have been a non-discriminatory advisory. I really don't see what a person's religious beliefs, or lack of them, has to do with the acceptability of verbally abusing them, or whether they are likely to be bothered by it.
By the way, I'm not Christian, I'm not anti-Christian, I'm Agnostic, Humanist, and a Unitarian. I thoroughly believe everyone deserves the same respect regardless of the label, and when religious beliefs, (or racism, sexism, any of the "isms" for that matter), even when they are only unconscious assumptions, get in the way of that, they deserve to be examined as a learning experience. |

By Myself - Sun 20/09/15 19:54:08 GMT I took his 'advisory' to mean the subject was somewhat strictly religious, and therefore might take serious offense to lewd or profane comments tossed her way. Interesting that some would immediately assume discrimination as far as one religion vs. others. |

By RoscoeBC - Sun 20/09/15 16:33:11 GMT Are you saying it would be acceptable to make lewd comments if she were anything besides Christian? I don't think you meant it that way, but there seems to be an underlying assumption. How about we treat all people with respect around here regardless of their religious beliefs. Why the special treatment for Christians? Are there no good people who are not Christian? It seems this is the kind of separatist thinking that breeds the sectarian violence we are seeing all over the world. It is an inherent danger in organized religion, IMHO. I think John Lennon had it right in "Imagine".

By jollywetfellow - Sun 20/09/15 12:30:08 GMT Two women in jeanskirts play in the waves - there is also a toddler and a man but the video focuses mainly on the women. Note: her other videos show that she is an active Christian, so no lewd comments to her please. |
