MK, your opinion pretty much hits the nail on the head. These days I don't bother wasting my time to catch wetlook scenes on TV when I can make my own scenes. More often than not, TV wetlook is usually disappointing, simply by the fact that typical TV productions always cater to an entirely different kind of audience. TV producers either have no clue that an audience for wetlook exists…..or…..they do know we exist and purposely edit the footage to deny us the scene.

There had been a few exceptions. Some TV/Movie wetlook scenes were very well done, but even the best wetlook scenes, in my opinion were still too short and lacked details. Most of the time, however, the typical TV wetlook scenes are just plain bad. The examples are numerous. Some scenes are often shot in the dark, so you can't see anything, or cuts immediately to commercial, or the scenes are edited in such a way as to eliminate the wetlook details. How many times do we see a woman getting wet in one scene and miraculously within the next scene, is dry? TV producers do not think we as an audience won't notice the details either. How many wetlook scenes begin with an actress wearing a dress and heels, ends up getting wet, but somehow her heels "become" black keds (or worse, water shoes) and she's wearing a bikini under her clothes? Lets not forget all of the missed wetlook opportunities. I used to hate old slapstick comedies where a guy and gal were in a potential wetlook scene, but the guy ends up in the drink instead of the beautiful actress in the dress. For the same reason I used to hate soap operas on TV. Because for 99% of the time, all of the actresses were in glamourous dresses and heels, but whenever there was a wet scene, the same actresses who were always wearing glamourous dresses were now wearing ugly sweats and sneakers or trainers, "clothes more appropriate" for the wet scene.

In any TV show, a "wetlook scene" isn't anything other than part of a plot, or part of the story. For example; Girl is trapped on the second floor of a burning house, the only escape is to dive into a pool. Girl is chasing bad guy thru a swamp and has to swim across a stream to catch him. etc. Whatever the story, the wetlook scene isn't the purpose for the show, so therefore it's designed to tell another story and appeal to a general audience. However, TV producers have also used "wetlook" as a tool to skirt around censors. Girl gets wet, her blouse goes transparent. The producers gets away with showing boobs and the censors can't complain because technically the actress is still wearing a blouse. It's the same idea behind showing an actress on TV wearing the skimpiest bikini. Producers have always known, "sex" sells.

The old TV shows tended to feature wetlook for these purposes, in the absence of the dental floss bikini, but today, it's less so, partly due to the ever present tiny bikini and less stringent censorship on TV.  I think there also might be an "awareness" by TV productions to avoid anything that is potentially a "fetish" because they may not want to contribute to them, or are afraid of them (we are a far more PC society these days) or the actresses who appear in these scenes doesn't want to have their image portrayed in this manner, or maybe it's a combination of everything.

In any case, I just don't waste my time any more on TV. For me, I get to see everything I want to see and my images are specifically designed to highlight wetlook. The models who are featured on our site will never suddenly appear dry in the next scene, their shoes will not miraculously change from heels to water shoes, and the scenes will last a lot longer and feature greater details. I know that at one time, the only wetlook I could find was the occasional TV shows, and you took a chance that it was worth it, but these days I don't have to hope. Wetlook is much more readily available, and you don't have to watch an hour of agonizing crap to see five seconds of disappointing wetlook

Sincerely Ed

This is just my opinion, so I am sure others will have differing opinions, but imho the latest wetlook scene on the tv series "Scorpion" that aired last night just shows how the mainstream world views wetlook in a totally different way to how wetlook fetish fans see things. This is because the way they frame their cameras and edit things tend to be totally devoid of the wetlook money shot moments being seen in the final edit. The Scorpion scene just does not deliver any money shots except for perhaps wet hair fans, cos all the shots are upper body shots only and not one single frame of footage shows the full body and the wet jeans moments (and there were also 2 other girls in the scene as well...and you do not see any money shots of them either), Basically the way they filmed and edited that scene was a totally unoriginal boring and cliched copycat of Halle Berry's slow motion arising from the sea moment from the Bond film "Die Another Day"...i.e. a stereotypical slow motion water exit moment (which was actually filmed in a better way because at least they filmed Halle's entire body and not just the top half as Scorpion did with Katherine McPhee).

I know others will disagree...so flame away...but my opinion is that a wet t shirt scene is not a wet t shirt scene if the girl is wearing a bra underneath....that is an oxy-moron....so basically the wet shirt aspect is totally  nullified by the fact she wears a bra, and the wet jeans aspect is never seen due to the editing and bad framing and camerawork...and all you are left with is a wet hair scene. You can see all the money shots in the behind the scenes stills on Soakfann's blog site....these are the good shots we did not see...

This is just like the Sarah Jessica Parker's wetlook scene on Sex in the City....none of the money shots were seen in the episode on that show....and could only be seen on the paparazzi's behind the scenes photos as they shot from a long lens from across the lake at Central Park...

But this is all good news for the wetlook producers....because it illustrates that there is still a need for wetlook producers to shoot those great money shot moments ,,,because the tv companies and movie companies mostly go out of their way to AVOID showing the best moments that wetlook fans like to see.

I am reminded of the famous Paul Hogan line from Crocodile Dundee....."thats not a knife.........THATS a knife".....cos in respect to wet shirt scenes...i.e. the Scorpion scene i not a wet shirt scene....the Leslie Easterbrook scene from Police Academy IV...now THATS a wet shirt scene.
