So, well thought about the risks of studio flashes and water. But on the other hand, we have done lots of shootings with heavy electrical gear in the near of water. The real point is to secure your equipment properly.

For the situation you described the most simple solution would be a good on camera flash that can be turned away from the model to get an indirect lighting. A white wall behind you will do a good job, nearly as well as a big softbox. We have done this often, well place was thight or no heavy gear on hand. You can even expand your possibilites with a second indirect slave flash. Both simple to get and use and over all perhaps cheaper as a motel location...

But he already has a model. A motel room sounds all right. You could use a simple clip on flood light and bounce it off a large piece of white cardboard/paper/umbrella etc. Bounce light is softer and fills in the shadow better. Also prevents glare on wet clothing from too harsh a light source. And, may be a better way to keep the juice from getting near the tub and frying a perfectly good model.

I think most of the producers rent a place, which allows for better lighting or at least enough spare room to set up the equipment without endangering anybody. Doing such a shooting at your apartment will sound very dodgy and it may be difficult to find a model (imaging the announcement "fetish shooting in private apartment done by a photograph without a professional reputation").

Hello! So I have a model who I want to do a wetlook shoot with, but the problem is location. The only location I have at the moment is the bathtub in my apartment. There is no window in the bathroom, and the only source of light is an incandescent light bulb on the ceiling. I thought about using studio light, but I am worried about it falling over and electrecuting the model...

How do you deal with these issues?
