I think you are reading me pretty well. For me, I don't think it's so much whether she planned it, it's about whether she is disturbed by it or enjoying it, for the feel or the attention.

I think Gary Kay hit that one on the head. If I was out on the town with a woman on a warm night, she was beautifully dressed in something that would be great when wet, and we came upon a fountain. I told her I'd love to see her walk through the fountain, I'd find it highly erotic, and she did it to turn me on, she enjoyed my undivided attention (and maybe the attention of bystanders), and hopefully she pulled me in with her. I don't think that is S&M. That is romance. If I grabbed her and dragged into the fountain whether she liked it or not, that is a different story. I guess if she enjoyed the attention and didn't mind getting her outfit soaked, it's not S&M, if her feelings are negative, it is. Back to the big question, when does "no" mean "no", and when does "no" mean "show me that you want me so much that you won't take no for an answer". Been there, took no for an answer. Not worth the risk.

Personally, although I enjoy the idea of throwing concern to the wind and getting soaked in clothes that might not survive, mine or hers, I'd rather they survive to play again. Ruining something isn't part of the turn on, but taking a risk because you enjoy the result is. I think that is a big part of it, feeling free enough to just do it because it's a turn on, regardless of the result. The nicer the clothes are, the more you are throwing caution to the wind for the pure sexuality of it. The hotter they look wet, and the more they change when they get wet, the better.

Wetlook might be SM, depending on how you conceive it. What you describe is, to me at least, borderline SM because you see it as destroying something nice, almost as if it was degrading. As you said, you see nakedness as being a bit too much and you might see clothes as (from what i understand) an extension of your / someone's personality, and the nicer the clothes better perhaps. What turns me on might be easily considered as SM, as i really like seeing a woman getting wet without it being planned. It's even better if her clothes are revealing, such as white clothes, because it means she didn't plan to get wet or didn't know that white clothing gets see-thru, and she is unwillingly (to some extent of course) exposed. Of course i don't mean i'd like to attack women wearing white clothes in the street with water, but if i happen to see a girl wearing white outside while it's raining a lot it will turn me on, and not only because she is exposed, but because she didn't mean to. That might be considered as some kind of humiliation, and i specifically enjoy this, so in my mind this is somewhat SM. So you might see getting nice clothes wet as a form of (light) humiliation, because it might ruin them, and in the end that is SM, the enjoyment of some kind of humiliation, wether you are being humiliated or you are humiliating someone. My two cents, don't hesitate to correct me if i'm wrong about anything you said.

This is a question I struggle with. I imagine the answer is a bit different for every one of us.

Is wetlook a form of sadism? Masochism?

Here is why I ask. Personally, if a woman gets wet in a pair of old jeans and an old flannel shirt, it really doesn't do much for me. Who cares. OK, a pair of short cutoffs and a tee shirt with no bra, like your common run of the mill wet tee shirt contest, has some appeal, but nothing really special.

What I really want, is for a woman in my life to deliberately get herself soaked wearing something dressy and at least somewhat sexy, preferably something that gets more revealing. Something that implies risk, something nice, that just might get ruined in the process of turning me on. Getting ruined isn't a necessity, like the ripping stuff, it's about taking a risk of ruining something nice in order to turn me on. I also like soaking her myself, but I have to know she doesn't mind, or intended me to. I've never soaked someone without consent.

So is that sadistic if she is participating willingly?

As far as the masochism is concerned, I really want a woman to soak me. Maybe she knows I'm wearing something I'd like to get soaked in, but I don't want to have to ask her to do it. The better I am dressed, the better. I'd love to have a woman push me into a pool in my tux (the one I got at Goodwill for chump change, but you can't tell that it was just an outlet store bargain). Better yet if she is dressed to kill and knows what is coming next :).

Actually I think part of the appeal of wetlook for me is the sexuality of it without just stripping off. With my inhibited upbringing, getting naked is still a bit dirty. But why the dressier clothes, instead of just whatever looks good wet?

I'd like some opinions, especially if any women read this...
