In reply to Message (67260.1) Nice ideas. But....?
By jollywetfellow - Thu 12/05/16 10:09:14 GMT I have several times posted corrections or additions to over-hasty first posts, and it would have been nice to have just edited the original. However, it would be a complete disaster if other people could edit my posts, given the number of mischief-makers on the web, and I think it would be very difficult to add an edit function which was only available to the original poster(?)
I also strongly support the second suggestion. At the moment the whingers and nit-pickers tend to respond to posts, whilst those who like the post think "I have nothing meaningful to say" and give no response. This gives a (probably false) impression that the post is not welcome, and that discourages the poster from ever bothering to post again. If there was a simple way to register support or opposition, it would put the whinges in perspective (if there were, say, 30 'likes' and only 5 'dislikes' for that post, you would know that it is appreciated by most, even if there is something some people dislike about it).
But lets be grateful that the Forum exists at all - if it can be improved further that would be great but I like it well enough as it is. |
In reply to Message (67260) Questions and sugestions to admin
By GSK - Thu 12/05/16 00:25:20 GMT Hi Nigel,
I woud like to ask a question which is also a suggestion in one:
Would it be possible to add an edit feature to the forum? Many times I spot mistakes in my posts only when they are alreeady published and there is currently no way I can edit and correct my posts.
Connected to this another question - would it be possible to add a like button to posts to gauge the reaction to the posts?
Cheers
GSK
