Or just swim frequently in a long dress at your local leisure centre. Once you've "introduced yourself" to the lifeguards by showing you can safely swim in it, they stop hassling you and even smile at your creative swimwear. I remember being hassled by various normies when I was swimming in one of the rivers round here, and even by the Police once at Brighton because someone on the pier threw a wobbly seeing me swimming in something unusual, and even the lifeguards at Wavelengths (Deptford) were (or pretended to be) shocked when I ran into the pool in my wedding dress. But since joining a leisure centre not only do they not "throw a wobbly" but they even smile when I fall backwards into the deep end in my swirly boho skirt or kaftan etc. I did get one comment at Purley from somebody who saw me swimming in my gym kit (even though I showered in it after working out and before swimming in it) but generally other leisure centre users are quite friendly and even flirty. Since the local Fusion is only about half a mile from where I now live, I generally don't bother with the long train ride to the coast or even the walk to the river, plus you get a proper swim in the pool all year round. I'm gradually working my way through all my fashionwear to swim in it, like I did when i had an Intex in my back garden in the 2000's. On a hot day, I even climb out after my swim and walk home soaking wet (attracting the occasional photo). Enjoyed a dance in the pouring rain last Saturday, jumping in all the puddles and twirling round and round after helping my friend Barbara load all her merch into her van. Water was pouring out of my clothes by the time I got home. :) Have phun :) |
In reply to Message (100231.1) yep, wildlife / nature photography good
By messylaura - Thu 12/09/24 10:47:18 GMT since i retired i took up wildlife and nature photography and its been excellent for walking about in mud, rivers and other wet places great thing is i do it dressed in my everyday clothes and shoes
before when i used to go for a muddy walk along the Thames embankment i'd 99% get people "concerned for a lady in the mud" and call the police etc, to which when they did come they were happy to let be carry on etc because its ok to be on the river etc
but since i been obviously carrying a camera and tripod i've never been interupted on the thames, i did have one woman say she thought i had knee high boots on but found it funny when she realized they were court shoes
as for parks and wetlands etc i just take camera
but for any of you shy about wet look in public people joining up with a wetlook walk group like that would be excellent, |
