Yep I got caught in the rain/thunderstorm Saturday afternoon in the local market. Was wearing a kaftan and boho skirt, over an umbrella dress, over a Primark sweater, and Lilley open-toe sandals. (My usual outfit nowadays, except the sweater, which is usually replaced by a zip-up blouse/shirt thingy or a chiffon one). Anyway, it gets to about 15:30 and Barbara goes off to get the van, while me and Bella start disassembling the stall. Barbara gets back with the van, and we all start loading it up, and the sky gets darker and darker. Suddenly there's a tremendous downpour, so I get out from under the awning over the stall and twirl around as the rain pours down, getting drenched through, in between helping Barbara and Bella put the merch in her van. I didn't even realise how wet I was until I got home, when I saw water dripping off my boho skirt. I was tempted to climb straight in the bath and turn the shower on, but by now time was getting on and I needed a rest (insomnia problems meant I often lie awake most of the night -- hence being on this forum at 4AM lol). More layers, stay wetter longer, and it reduces the evaporation effect so you stay warmer even if it's windy. Went on DDG and prompted and rendered some wammy pics and vids. Played some TTDLX. Got a plushie in a furniture shop that's closing. They had a glamorous bejewelled dress and I asked about it and the bloke said "It's very heavy" and it was. He only wanted £20 for it, It still might be there next time i'm round there but it's probably far too heavy to swim in, and the jewels might come off in the pool and injure somebody's feet. Ooh I'm waffling on a bit, sorryboutdat :) Have phun :) |

By messylaura - Mon 23/09/24 05:47:31 GMT been raining quite heavy here in london uk, just come back from an awsome walk in the rain with a light weight velvet maxi dress, quite tight but it had a slit up the back, wore a jumper and heavy mid calf coat with it went out in a thunderstorm for a couple hours, found lots of deep puddles to to roll in so everything got wet, stood under some run off deluges and jumped in the local pond wasnt a trip hazard but had to un hook it from my heels a few times when i got up from sitting / rolling on puddles, was quite late around 3am, i was a bit out of energy so the added weight of the water was pretty heavy, i mostly prefer shorter dresses and skirts, thigh to below the knee but last few nights i been wearing the heavier long dresses
went to the pub during the day for the quiz night and it was raining heavy then too but i wore a long thin pink dress, flary A line, also was a bit cheeky wearing all red undies and red fishnet stockings so they showed up quite well under the wet pink dress.
next big lot of rain during the day time could be this wednesday, probably do short red woolly mini dress and red shoes, not sure if i'll do beige thin tights or black opaque, both look great with all that water running of the dress |

By Mermaid Wanda - Mon 23/09/24 01:33:09 GMT Website: https://tinyurl.com/janetandjulia I love swimming in a long patchwork boho skirt at my local pool (Fusion), with a flared-sleeve hippie minidress over the top, jewellery, ankle bracelets, and stripy red-and-black tights. I add a belt at the waist to stop the skirt flapping over my head when I do the fly. For lane swims, I usually just wear a tie-dye umbrella dress and flowery leggings (with the hippie minidress). The lifeguards are no problem, in fact they smiled at me the first time I did this, after all, they only want to be sure you can swim in all this wonderful swirly fashionwear without drowning yourself :) Have phun :) |

By Barry McCockiner - barrymccock29@yahoo.com Sun 22/09/24 13:35:58 GMT Any other wet maxi dress fans on here?
The tripping hazard when they get wet and stretch aside, the way they cling and the neckline drops…. nothing else like it.
