You're probably right, some more googling shows that the Kappa Delta chapter at San Diego university was formed in 2012, so 2015ish is likely correct. |
In reply to Message (100356.3.1.1.1) or more like 2015 ?
By plonss - Sun 06/10/24 17:30:53 GMT The type of skinny jeans they wear (high rise) make me think it could be about 2015. |
In reply to Message (100356.3.1.1) I think it's real, but likely old(ish)
By WetCasual - wetcasual@yahoo.com Sun 06/10/24 16:11:26 GMT Website: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8131233@N08/ Something tells me that this is from quite some time back, maybe 2005-2010ish, which explains why nothing can be found on google or reverse image searches.... Doesn't explain why the Pinterest link doesn't work though.. It may be something the OP has stored locally on his own computer, or it may be somehow restricted (USA only?) I guess.... There definately DOES exist a Kappa Delta sorority at San Diegu University, and San Diego seems to have both publically employed and privately employed lifeguards. I've not been able to find any matches for the uniforms worn in the one picture though, which again suggests it may be quite some years ago and uniforms have later been changed |
In reply to Message (100356.3.1) I’m a skeptic but…
By What do you think? - Sun 06/10/24 13:43:54 GMT If this is ai, it’s the best I’ve seen. Most Wetlook ai looks overly glossy and plastic

By Wetlook Enjoyer - Sun 06/10/24 05:06:58 GMT 🚨🌊 A Day of Life-Saving Collaboration with SDSU’s Kappa Delta Sorority! 🌊🚨
We had an incredible experience partnering with San Diego State University’s Kappa Delta Sorority for a day of intensive lifeguard rescue exercises! This wasn’t just a day at the beach—most of the women participating are Nursing, Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physician Assistant (PA) students, and they earned academic credit for stepping out of their comfort zones and diving into lifeguard training. 🩺💪
As future healthcare professionals, these women are already familiar with patient care and medical emergencies, but stepping into our world of ocean rescue added a whole new layer to their education. The exercises we designed for them were practical, high-pressure, and tailored to help bridge their knowledge of healthcare with real-life emergency situations, many of which they could encounter in their future careers. Some of the participants opted for a slight extra credit boost! (Take a guess) These future healthcare professionals didn’t just learn how to perform water rescues; they experienced how difficult it can be to swim in full rescue attire, preparing them for real-world emergencies where every second counts, and conditions are unpredictable.
Here’s what the day looked like:
Water rescues: The students practiced rescuing distressed swimmers, many while fully clothed, adding an extra challenge as they learned the physicality of water rescues. Inflatable raft drills: Learning how to navigate and operate rescue rafts under the strain of waves. Paddleboard recovery techniques: Essential for rescues further out from the shore, they mastered quick responses while maintaining balance on the boards. CPR and first aid: With their medical backgrounds, they integrated emergency response techniques in an aquatic setting, applying knowledge they’ll carry into their future careers. Many of these students had already learned life-saving techniques in their academic programs, but performing them in the water—while fully clothed—added a whole new level of complexity. By the end of the day, they had developed a stronger understanding of the physical and mental demands of open-water rescues, and how crucial water safety is, especially in our coastal community.
We’re proud to have played a part in preparing the next generation of nurses, OTs, and PAs with skills that go beyond the classroom, teaching them the importance of teamwork, endurance, and ocean safety. And we have to give a special shoutout to those who went above and beyond for extra credit by diving in with their full outfits!
