Hi, Desert Hawk,
No, that was not a requirement of singles in the church. I joined the group for divorcees and singles because I'm upset and angry about my own divorce. My ex-wife was dry. She did get wet sometimes, but that was only because I manufactured situations where she would get wet. Even though that's not an ideal situation, I did not want a divorce.
The Baptist church that I attended really sold me a bill of goods that their divorcee group would bring peace and healing about my divorce. That wasn't the case. I was open minded about it and I gave them slightly more than one year. I'm still upset about my divorce, and all they did was run around trying to police other people's sexuality.
Everyone in that church, or any church, has the freedom to participate in single's groups, divorcee's, or any other group. I exercised my freedom of religion and I left.

In reference to gambling, I'm telling you what members of that church said. I never contributed that to anything Jesus said because as far as I know, there isn't any reference anywhere to Jesus condemning gambling.
In response to "I thought you meant you paid them to have sex with you."
I have a both a wetlook fetish and a sock fetish, and with me the two are not mutually exclusive of eachother. When wetlook with socks is not present, I'm not interested. I would not care if I never had sex. I don't even own any pornography of any kind. If I had a wet wife, but she didn't care about sex, I would be perfectly happy with that. |

By Desert Hawk - Wed 20/12/06 18:59:34 GMT Barry, in your response to my Las Vegas post, you mentioned that a Baptist church you used to go to required you to install some kind of "accountability" software on your computer that spied on your surfing and reported it to another church member. Was this a requirement of all singles in that church? This is big brotherism at it's worst. I would certainly never go to a church that had rules like that (besides, I am so computer illiterate that I don't know how to install anything on a computer!). It sounds like the pastor of that church could turn out to be another Jim Jones in the making (any youngsters reading this who don't know who Jim Jones was, he was a preacher turned fanatic who convinced his folloowers to move to a commune in Guyana. They ended up killing themselves in a mass suicide at the order of the madman preacher). I did a little online research and discovered that a few Pentecostal Churches have the accountability group thing too. These churches are playing into the hand of those who would create a dictatorial Orwellian Police State. Not all or even most Southern Baptist churches are liek this. We certainly don;t have anything like that at my church. Don't let one wierd church turn you off of religion. We are not all Orwellian mind control freaks. I gotta go now. I will be autologged off at this library in less than one minute. |
