hm, what /does/ happen to a mobile phone when you go swimming with it? I guess you'd have to be pretty drunk to go into water with one or not be pissed off after being thrown in with one...
I am assured by an electronics nerd that no harm would come to the electronics, and with a classic phone I suppose you have little to use as any short circuits probably won't affect the SIM card (what do those use anyhow, a Flash RAM programmer?) On the other hand, I carry a palmtop with me everywhere and even if water won't harm it (as various stories allude) any little short anywhere and you could risk corrupting all the memory! And the same is true of any modern phone which runs an OS and has a regular RAM drive for data. That instils in me a huge fear of going near water and I even get very uncomfortable even seeing photos of anyone carrying anything electronic near water. I was on the bus the other week and it suddently started pouring with rain. Really heavy rain, and before too long I passed three deliciously soaked girls, dressed for summer weather. Then I thought, shit, if that was me outside I'd be buggered...
I already made a mistake with backing up data before a hard reset and wiped out my entire sketchpad (doodles notes and all) and all my contacts. And you can't even take it apart to clean it if it gets full of dirty water which does affect circuitry -- the dirt and impurities in the water left behind can cause problems, it's best to wash out a device with ionised (?) water as I recall.
Of course, if I knew I was going to go near water, I'd leave anything unsafe behind. But what if I was not expecting it and someone threw me in (especially anyone who knew I'd like it)? I would not be grinning and loving it, I would be very angry.
And yeah, I am not for getting drunk or being anywhere near drunk people, and a lot of if not all of the Wetshots images seem to be of drunk people. What are the odds of anyone having that sort of fun, sober? I guess that rules out any fun from my perspective ...
I guess JPEGs have their advantages. Reality sucks the big one, but I am at least grateful to those who keep the JPEGs coming :) |

By klm4748 - Sat 30/07/05 03:34:21 GMT Thanks for the links! But my pessimistic side insists that I disagree with your blanket statement-- NOT all women love wetlook. I think more accurate is that many women are more capable of 'letting their heir down' than others, and when that happens near water and there's no swimsuit, you get wetlook (and now, to our bountiful luck, webshots). My wife is steadfastly anti-wetlook. She hated it when a guy threw her in a fountain, and she's just now stripped to take a cooling bath (rather hot out again today). But I love her anyway.
Stay wet (and cool!) |

Okay, now for the comment: These pics verify what someone once said about wetlook: all women love it, they just might not know it yet. Look how ecstatic all these wet girls are! Even the ones pushed in to a pool at a party, all primped and dressed up--they are incapable of being mad! And look how often it happens!
Another comment: Webshots is the greatest free site in the history of the internet! The hits just keep on comin'! Every day, just about, there's another bunch of links to new pictures. Thanks again to everyone for sharing their finds.
Finally, a suggestion: Turn off JAVA when browsing webshots! I was wondering why the site was so slow and started suspecting the banner ads, with their moving images and text. I shut off Java and presto! blazing speed again.
Okay all, peace.
