I've not had that problem, but then I've blocked all their java and flash ad furniture thus:-
Try adding the following lines to the end of your DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS file :-) (its full path under XP is ''C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts'')
127.0.0.1 mads.webshots.com # Stupid flash ad site 127.0.0.1 p.webshots.com # Stupid flash ad site
The first one gets rid of most ad furniture, the second line gets rid of it all (but also the PREV/NEXT buttons)
SW, FW, and BH :-)
P.S. How it works (technical explanation):- When a client browser (such as IE) wants a hostname in a URL (such as mads.webshots.com) it asks Winsock etc. which first looks up the hostname in the HOSTS file (before it asks your ISP's DNS server), and thus any entries in there can be redirected to another IP address. 127.0.0.1 (localhost) is your own machine (''My Computer''), and so the URL won't get any further ;-) (Internet Exploiter will just display a red X icon for a missing resource).
Add many other spammy sites too, using the same format :-) |

By Chief - sailing@tampabay.rr.com Mon 24/10/05 13:39:18 GMT Is anyone else having problems with their computer after linking to webshots from this site? This must be the Flintstone's virus cause it just started after hurricane Wilma passed by.
After linking to a webshots site, the hourglass flashes on and off, and the task manager shows "null.exe" turning on and off and using about half of the CPU's resources when it does. Anyone having this problem,or have a suggestion for a fix?
