By bryce - brycepunk1@earthlink.net Tue 15/11/05 21:39:49 GMT Yeah, the commercials are innevitable. But those animated ads have gotten so bad I don't bother checking the webshots postings anymore as I'm on an older machine and dial-up, so each image can take me several minutes to see. A bummer when it's a girl in a bikini. Who knows... maybe they'll start to limit the gifs. I doubt it. Sadly, they'll probably use the issue to sell us all new computers. |

By WETINRED - stekz@cableone.net Tue 15/11/05 21:06:09 GMT Website: http://www.wetinred.com And suppose Webshots did away with all it's advertising? They would cease to exist cuz someone has to pay for the daily Terrabyte of bandwidth and TB's of space. Just the way it is |

By John - Tue 15/11/05 21:00:35 GMT I think you're right. It's bad enough that there are so many ads, but I have an 800Mhz machine and those ANIMATED GIF ads eat up so many cycles that it slows down everything else. Everyone should write to webshots and complain--ask them to disallow animated ads on the photo pages. As a matter of fact, all the animated icons on this forum slows it down too!! With my browser (Safari), I don't have the option of turning off GIF animation. |

By Ikarus Studio - okmkm@wp.pl Tue 15/11/05 15:19:15 GMT The problem must be with the evergrowing amount of ads. I have a premium account, thus no ads and no problems. Everything works fine and very fast. So they probobly overdid it and the ads take ages to load. I logged out and try to access the same pages. It was very slow and I was shocked by the amount of ads. A sad day for Webshots this is :-/ |

By Blue Ranger - Tue 15/11/05 11:49:37 GMT I have firefox and i quite often get the image giving up, or a dialogue saying it's temporarily unavailable. It's just a case of refeshing, right-clicking and show image and general patience! Regular clean-ups of your temp internet files / cache should speed things up a bit, I would appreciate any further advice. |

By WetDane - wetdane@hotmail.com Tue 15/11/05 11:27:55 GMT Hi guys
Just noticed that the problem by me does not appear in Mozilla Firefox. I guess IŽll stick to that one for a while.
Maybe that could be a fine idea for others, too.

By Petr - Tue 15/11/05 10:48:32 GMT I have the same problem. Just keep waiting for few seconds or reload the page. But sometimes the picture doesn't appear while the page was loaded - like the picture isn't on the web. |

By Anonymous - Tue 15/11/05 09:58:39 GMT The image will come up after a minute or so. It looks like they have added something to force everyone to view the ads. The albums don't have this problem, just the images. |
