Uwe, the sad thing about Dyngus day was that for quite a long time it was not cold. In the lat 90s we had hot weather almost every Easter. Lately something changed. Plesant warm weather lasts much longer in winter (I mean december seems like october lately and snow around christmas, which once was a norm is just a memory) but spring seems not to exist anymore. It's cold and then one day it's just freaking hot. No pleasent warm spring time. And sadly Dyngus is always in the cold part or at least was for a the last years.
Anyway it's very hard to take photos on Dyngus day. The best can be made in big apartment complexes on the outskirts of big cities. However the people with water (soaking every singl girl) are usually groups of many young men/boys. And they are not dangerous (I mean they won't steal your camera or anything) but it's really hard to reason with them before they get YOU soaked, even if you do have a camera. So your brand new camera may turn into a... disposable one :/

By uwe - Wed 09/01/08 08:10:08 GMT I think that one problem is that most of the polish pages are written in polish language, which makes it difficult to search. Many dutch sites, for example, are written in english.
One highlight in Poland seems to be Dyngus-Day on easter monday. Even though I have never been there, the pictures look great (keep in mind that it is usually rather cold at that time of the year).
