Language is getting more explicit, along with innuendo, sexual situations, tease, etc..Yet, certain body parts must be kept out of view on commercial TV. Nudity is depicted with careful placement of camera, subject, and any suitable object to hide what must be hidden. Nipples were once visible through clothing - at least sublty... not so any more.
The line of decency has been drawn - and has shifted over time - in a most bizarre way.

By soakkfann - Sat 16/05/15 21:24:02 GMT I (as do most of you) keep my eye out for digitized versions of my favorite older TV clips. One of my old time favorites is this clip from Fantasy Island. Mary Ann Mobley in a white blouse in the sea. How disappointing to see they made a point of blurring out the nipples. While the picture is much cleaner, it was obviously touched up. For a comparison, here is a side by side shot - original on the left.
and another
CRAZY!!!!
