Game shows and Reality shows all have one thing in common ... people looking to get their 15 minutes of fame by appearing on tv. I don't feel sorry for people on reality shows or gameshows. Nobody forced them to be on the show. They all beg to appear on the show because they are either nobodies who seek some money or fame, or they are over the hill washed out celebrities who's career already died and they are looking to re-boot their career.

The girl in one of those scenes does look genuinely mad at being thrown in the pool. As if she is saying "hey - I went on this lousy show to make some money and get some fame, not to get thrown in the pool" ... meanwhile the Producer of the show is thinking "Nope ... you got paid to be on this show to create ratings via creating conflict ... which is what you are doing".

So it is as funny as Tina Louise (Ginger on Gilligan's Island) who was constantly upset with Producer Sherwood Schwartz because she was not the star of Gilligan's Island and claimed she was hired to be the star of that show. Meanwhile Sherwood Schwartz described Tina Louise as being pretty dumb, because she signed a contract for a show called "Gilligan's Island" and the show was never called Ginger's Island, so there was never any doubt that Gilligan would be the star, not her.
