This is a good question, and I don't have a really good answer, but I'll do my best. As a producer, the question takes on a different meaning for us. A few years ago, we had the pleasure to work with a fantastic model. She was young, beautiful and seemingly enthusiastic. And so we didn't hesitate to book her for another shoot, but it would have to wait till the next spring, when the weather was warm enough. Sadly, a few months later, we had discovered via her Facebook page, that she had apparently been suffering from depression and one night decided to end it all........ By this time, I had been uploading her sets from our first sessions onto our site and had many more sets to go. But learning of this terrible news, I felt it appropriate to quietly remove her sets and not release another. I also decided not to bring light to it or mention it, as I felt that it was our way of showing respect to her family.

So in that situation, I felt that my actions were appropriate. But I have another view as well that I hope makes sense to you. As a photographer, our camera can only capture a moment in time. So when I'm looking at a vintage photo. I'm thinking of that moment. Yes, we as humans exist in time. We see the passing of time and understand that a 20yr old model who posed for a wetlook photo back in the mid 50s is either a senior by now or has passed away. But her image shows me a beautiful young woman participating in a fantasy I love and really no different except the passing of time, to what we are doing today.

Concerning Krista Bruenig, I think the tragedy there was that, the producer revealed the bad news and decided to leave her images online for a time, as a tribute to her. Not knocking their decisions, I'm sure they felt it was the right thing to do, but for me as a viewer, it changed the way the images of her would be interpreted by me and perhaps all of us, in that whenever we see her images, we can't help but think of the tragedy, rather than remember a moment captured in time.

When it comes to future events, the situation in Ukraine. I really don't have an answer. As far as all the models who live there, I hope they are well and safe.

I have been struggling with this question since the passing of Krista Bruenig and emergence of vintage wetlook material, now brought back again with the current situation in Ukraine and its potential to harm wetlook models:

We know ours is a sexual fetish. Is it appropriate to get excited watching a vintage clip or wetlook material knowing the subject of the video is dead? Isnt it a bit morbid?

What about current material - what if the madness on East escalates and some of the young and pretty models of Dima or Viktor lose their lives? (I dont want it to happen, but war is brutal). Wil Viktor or Dima remove them from the website?

Sorry for a strange question, but I would like to know your answers.
