Hm … hard to say. I’ve not work wellies in years, as I never found them comfortable to wear. The top opening tends to be on the large side (so that you can somehow force your foot in, I suppose, compared to zip-up boots) and water is going to get in their and try to push them off.
It will depend on how good a fit the boots are — you can test this by seeing how hard they are to just take off your feet under normal conditions. I don’t remember for sure now: part of me says they were a hopelessly loose fit, and another part of me says that they were a headache to try to get on and off (I have a hard enough time with ordinary shoes) but it’s been too long to tell now.
I can’t swim anyway, so I have never swum in shoes, even though I’ve gone into rivers in my shoes. |

A girl wears a t-shirt, trousers and wellies and she has a swim in a pool.
My question is, do you think her wellies caused her much difficulty when she swam, and are you surprised they didn't fall off?
