I was walking along a nature trail near a pond, and i saw that a large tree had fallen into the water!  I would guess at least a year ago?  I only saw a portion of the tree trunk, and it did not stick out into the water very far at all!  I had not planned on getting into the water, BUTT i emptied my pockets anyway.  It seemed a little daring to walk out on this log.  I was only a little bit past the bank, but then suddenly the log shifted due to my weight, and it dumped me into the water!  I repeated the the dunking one more time, and enjoyed a successful unplanned dunking!  On 2nd thought, it might have ended badly... the water was somewhat murky, and if there had been any large underwater stumps, i might have hit my head on one of those?

using a canoe or other small boat can always help.  I watched a pair of ladies who first tried a canoe.  In that case, i think they were not experienced with canoes, and the first one attempted to board the canoe but ended up falling into the water instead.  After one failed attempt they switched to the more stable paddle boat.

At a completely different pond, i sat on a small dock, usually used by people who came to fish.  But all by myself, i sat on the dock as if i was just hanging out.  I was sitting at the edge right next to the water.  My accidental water entry was to sit up, and then reach out toward the water as if i thought there was something to grab onto there, but instead, the result is to fall directly into the water!  But then, nobody was around to see the accident happen anyway!

One of my stories from Siren's wetlook story page, copied & pasted...

I had just completed the first phase of classroom training for railroad operations (i was specifically taught how my employer wanted everyone to set track switches, couple and uncouple rail cars, air brake hoses, etc) We were finished on a Friday, and at lunchtime we were set free!

My "FEW" (future Ex Wife) was expecting me later in the evening, based the regular schedule of our classes finishing later in the evening for the previous 3 weeks.  Now i had the afternoon to myself! Due to many years serving in the military, i am probably most comfortable wearing army boots. Our classroom attire was casual, i was wearing some slacks and a semi-nice button shirt over a t-shirt. There was a really nice Lake on the way home, and i hadn't been swimming in sooo long, so that was my first stop.

This park itself was nice enough, but there was barely anyone there. (one thing i miss is the INCREDIBLE THRILL of entering the water fully clothed, i've done it so much now, i don't get the same thrill that i did when i was younger!) But for being such a long time since the last time i went swimming, it was nice to be in the water again! I found a decent place to enter the water, and slowly enjoyed ever step that took me deeper and deeper into the water. Situationally speaking, I didn't want to be "caught" so i went in fairly quick, submerged myself completely, and swam around just a little bit before wading back out.  I strolled around a little bit, enjoying the feel of my wet clothes. I was still very early in the afternoon, so I had a few more hours on my own. I decided to stop at Gray's Lake before i actually would return home, and most likely go for one more swim!

When i arrived, i was happy. Gray's Lake is probably one of the nicest parks in my area. There is a walk/run/bike pathway a little bit longer than 2 miles that encircles the lake. My favorite parking space was available, so after i was parked, i strolled around just a little bit to get a feel for where (and how) my 2nd clothed swim of the day would proceed!

With SOOOO many people around, i didn't want to just wade in like i did an hour ago. Therefore, i will need an accomplice! My idea was that i would ask someone to push me in from the small boat dock normally used by kayak/canoe/SUP boaters, etc. I probably spent 15 minutes scrutinizing the nearby park patrons. There was a young lady that appeared to be visiting an older relative. As i built up enough nerve to approach her with my unusual request, i saw that i was too late. As i started walking towards her, she and the relative were walking away towards where they had parked their car. What a bummer. Nobody else that remained looked like anyone that i wanted to bother. Oh well, guess i will just leave???

I turned around and began walking back toward my car. As i walked around a few trees i suddenly noticed a different young lady laying on a picnic blanket and reading a book. I sat down on the grass and extended my hand "Hi, I'm Greg, what's your name?" "Hi Greg, I'm Mehgan"

"Nice to meet you Mehgan. Please let me know if i am bothering you, but I have a small dilemma I am hoping you can help me with?"

"What kind of dilemma? And how can * i * help YOU with this dilemma?"

"Well Mehgan, it's such a nice day today. I'd like to go swimming, but i don't have a swimming suit with me. My preferred option is hoping that i can somehow talk you into pushing me in the water...?"

"Oh I don't know if i want to do that? I don't want people to see me as an asshole to do something like that? If you want to go swimming so badly, why don't you just confidently walk into the water???"

"I suppose as a last resort, i might could do something like that. Probably I would just strip off my shirt and shoes, so it doesn't look quite so abnormal. But you don't have to worry about people seeing you as the asshole. I will crouch down and dip my hand in the water, and that will be so easy for you at that point to push me in! You can even say something like: REVENGE TIME! so instead of being the asshole, it can seem like i had alreadyt done the same to you at some earlier time!"

"Oh, but you're not going to try to push me in instead or anything?"

"Well, i think it would be more fun that way, but i won't force that on you.

Mehgan and i walked down to the dock.  I crouched down and dipped my hand in the water.  For a second, i thought she might be chickening out, but almost as soon as those thoughts crossed my mind, i felt her hand on my shoulder, pushing me rather gently off balance.  So for me it all happened so fast, from the moment i felt her hand, it almost seemed like i teleported underwater.

Here the water was quite shallow, just about at my waist.  I don't think she yelled anything when she pushed me in, so i stood up and then i said "i guess that makes us even now?" I splashed a little bit of water on her, and she said "wow, that actually feels pretty good..."

In hindsight, i probably could have actually got her in the water BUT i had promised her i would not, so I just pulled myself out of the water and we started walking to the parking lot.  "well, thank you for helping me with my dilemma, Mehgan"  She replied, "no problem, anytime!"

At that point, my free time was dwindling, so reluctantly i looked forward to avoid trouble at home.  I'd hope to encounter Mehgan again someday, but that remains to be seen...

I fell in the river when walking along the levee embankment last year (full story on Janet&Julia's forum (Non-Fictional Stories and News -> Walking along the levee then accidentally falling into the river). It was joyously wonderful, because I didn't expect it, and hadn't planned on getting wet that day. I stepped off the levee to aviod some stinging nettles, treading on what I thought was grass but turned out to be river, toppling over backwards and going right under. I climbed out and got a few funny looks from people walking along the footpath, with soaking wet hair and tie-dye teeshirt. Lol :) Always fill your day with wonderful things!

just remembered another big drenching, not an accidental one but a supprise oppertunity,

there was a foot tunnel under the north circular A road that had flooded due to the pumps failing, its happened before after heavy rain.

i posted about it at the time but i was on the way past it wearing a long velvet dress, wasn't intending to get wet that day but i had my camera with me for some wildlife stuff, switch to a 32mm lens and gave my bag with the rest of the gear to my gf and went down the tunnel for some images, water was chest high

think i posted on the umd with a few shots

i thought i was in for a cold walk home as it was a bit on the windy side but the long velvet kept me pretty warm even though it was dripping wet

i've accidentally fallen into a cut out along a river bank, the tide was out so it was dry but it could have been wet, genuinely didn't see it in the twilight.

accidentally fallen into a park pond twice, both from the same reason, i was out to get wet but not in that way, first time i was looking for somewhere to sit low to the water so i went to step down onto a concrete step at the waters edge, turns out it was a trick of the light and it was about 3 feet deep.

second time, smaller garden pond, first was a lake, again i was out to get wet in the rain, The pond in this park i hadn't been to in a while and i remember it having a knee deep level, as i stepped down i just kept going, and as i thought i was going to hit bottom pretty quick like knee deep my other foot was still on the edge of the pond, i went to bring it down but i couldnt and fell in sideways, got fully drenched, was wearing all black skirt suit and it ended up with green pond weed all over it and in my hair,

on one occasion at the thames river at low tide i was wanting to go down to the mud, on this day i only planned on wadding knee deep as it was a day out with my gf rather than a full on mud session, as i went down a boat ramp i assumed would be grippy because it was rough concrete i took a few steps onto the thin layer of mud and was on my arse sliding down to the water, could have been a emergency rescue as i would have been helpless without anything to grab hold of but it remained shallow, it wasnt a full submerging but it could have been a scenario to fit your ideas, it did send a load of mud up my skirt which was a bonus

aside from those i've not had any fall in submerges but a few drenchings which were a supprise and resulted in a full drenching

two were from puddle splashes, one from a bus and one from a lorry, both were expected splashings but i wasnt expecting the volume of water,

the bus one was a opportunity i took at the moment, i walked a little bit faster to get splashed on a regular day out, didn't think about the depth of puddle, it was in the middle of the day on a busy street so i turned away to make it lok as i didn't want to get wet (didn't want a full face slosh at the time)

this was at a time when i used umberellas rather than hats in the rain, as the bus splashed be it was not only more water than i was expecting and drenched me on the back but the water hit the inside of my umberella and directed back at me getting me in the face and chest

fully soaked on the back and front

the other one from the lorry i was already pretty wet from the rain so it wasnt a soaking from dry but again the puddle was huge and i was wanting a fully soaking, i closed my eyes as the lorry passed then got knocked onto my back hard, the water volume was that much, fortunatly it was on a grass siding so i wasnt hurt but i was now sitting in a pool of muddy grassy water, i was wearing a heavier coat that day and i may as well have rolled around in the puddle i couldnt have gotten any wetter.

other things i have seen and done, pranks on secretaries, one of ours was always up for a laugh and she got quite a few drenchings in the summer, very nice lady too, mostly buckets over doors,

i've seen a few people get caught out by awnings full of water on a windy day when its rained a ton

so not many actual fall ins but lots soaked through, really heavy rain is a great one too, i've been caught out a few times when i didn't want to get wet

not just soaked but drenched right through

even my gf's mum got me into a wet dress once, not really a soaking but it was really erotic to get wet unexpectedly

it was a quiz night in a large hall, which had a bar, i was wearing a thin summer dress in yellow with all red under wear and accessories, like bag shoes,

as she sat next to me her wine glass slipped and went straight into my lap, i'm no fan of the small of wine and alcohol   so i went and washed it out, well i took the piss a bit to make the most of the situation and took my dress off and washed it fully then put it back on wet but rung out a bit

as i returned to the table her mum said oh, youre wearing stockings,

was a bit more see thru than i thought

something i've not seen in real life or done is sitting on the edge of a fountain or water container then fallen backwards into it, that would apply to your scenario you asked about

walking over a frozen pond would be a drenching but not a fun one, if the water is too cold you loose feeling and theres no real point if you cant enjoy or feel the water

i have a habit of going ot when its too cold really and just wanting to come home when the fun goes away, prefer warmer wetness

Emergency would be something like saving a drowning person or animal or similat. Accidentally falling into water is a bit too general, what is the scenario that lead to someone falling in?

What is an “emergency” way to get wet?

What kind of scenarios do you have in mind? You mean something other than accidentally falling into a pool/pond/river?

What are some non-emergency ways of accidentally getting wet? Preferably submerged wet.
